How to get stronger abs
53One strange myth around working out your abs is related to number of many abs should be done to get a six-pack abs or in general stronger abs. First of all, the body fat percentage should be 10 or less to get the abs showing. No matter how strong or big your ab muscles are butt they won't show under belly fat. This is one of the most difficult things for most of us, when we want to get our six pack abs to show. Now to the number of repetitions that should be done. Abs aren't any different from other muscles around the body, so they respond to added resistance like any other muscle on your body. So more resistance gives more reason for your muscles to grow.
Don't get me wrong, it is nice that you can do 200 abs in one set or 80 abs in minute. This just doesn't mean that you have strong abs and most of all big ab muscles. So how to get stronger and more visible ab muscles. I personnally like to do ab exercises where you can use weight plates for more resistance, like incline bench. Think about your exercises and think how you can add weights along for more resistance. 3-4 different ab exercises are more than enough to train your abs if they workout your abs all around together. 15-20 repetitions, 3 - 4 sets is a good amount for one exercise. Use as heavy weights as you can, while still doing the abs in controlled manner. Never rock yourself up, use hands or do some other cheat to get up. The only one you are cheating is youself!
Good exercises for abs to do is the most important thing to do when you want really strong abs. You can do crunches, leg pull-ins and other all day, but you can get the same results and better in 10-15 minutes when you use weights for resistance.
